Alex Award– created by the American Library Association and given to the ten books written for adults that have special appeal to teens. The books are selected from the previous year’s publishing. Morris Award– awarded annually by the American Library Association it honors a debut book published by a first-time author writing for teens and celebrating impressive new voices in young adult literature. Non-Fiction Award– awarded by the American Library Association it honors the best nonfiction book published the previous year for teens. Printz Award– awarded annually by the American Library Association since 2000 to the best book written for teens based on literary merit.
