What are the types of cards for children?
Parents of children under 5 years of age may apply for a toddler card. These cards allow the check out of children’s books and audio materials.
Children ages 5 to 18 will be issued a juvenile card which allows the check out of books and audio materials.
Parents of children age 13 to 18 can sign permission for their child to have a young adult card. In addition to books and audio materials, this card allows for the check out of DVDs, Blu-Ray discs, Kindles and iPads.
Are there special card for teachers and home school parents?
Teachers and parents who home school, may apply for a teacher’s card. Teacher’s cards are exempt from fines on materials such as children’s books, 4-week adult books, audio materials and magazines that are used in the classroom.
