Library of Things
The Queen Anne’s County Library offers checkouts for various items that our community has shown interest or need for. A list of these Library of Things is below and can be checked out from any Branch, based on availability.
Yard Games
Enjoy a variety of yard games, available to checkout for a two-week period. Games available include: Bocce Ball, 3-in-1 Checkers, Flickin’ Chicken, Kan Jam, Ladder Golf, and Ring Toss.
Spire Studio
This digital recording device is designed to capture high-quality vocals and musical instruments using the free Spire Studio app. Musical instruments can be connected directly to the device for recording.
Finished audio files may be imported into the Library’s Audio Recording Studio software for further editing, mixing, and production.
The checkout period for this item is two weeks.
Toniebox Kits & Tonie Characters
Tonieboxes are audio players designed for kids ages 3+. Play as. a speaker or with provided headphones. All Toniebox kits include a Toniebox, charging station, headphones, instructions, and 5-6 Tonies.
Individual Tonie characters are also available to use with our Tonie Boxes, or yours! Each character features early literacy stories and songs.
Tonieboxes and Tonie characters can be checked out for a two week period.
Bike Repair Kit
Make simple bike repairs using our Bike Repair Kit. This kit includes: a 16-in-1 bike multi tool, tube repair kit (glueless patches), 16mm spanner wrench, two tire levers, rank puller, all-iron bone wrench, mini bike pump, materials sheet and a Bicycle repair kit bag. Bike kits can be checked out for a two week period.
Anti-Glare LED Page Magnifier
Make reading small print a little easier with a lighted Page Magnifier. These magnifiers are LED-lit and provide anti-glare magnification for books, electronic devices, and more. Magnifiers can be checked out for a two-week time period.
Board Games
Expand your family game night selections with one of our Board Games. Titles include Apples To Apples, Bananagrams, Candy Land, Cards Against Humanity Family Edition, Checkers, Chess, Clue. Exploding Kittens, Fluxx, Hoot Owl Hoot, Jenga, Mancala, Slamwich, Sushi Go Party, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Yeti In My Spaghetti, Zombie Dice, and Zombies. Board Games can be cheked out for a two week period.
Diagnostic Code Reader
Need help figuring out what that light on your car dashboard means? Borrow our diagnostic code reader and find out for sure! Code Readers can be checked out for a two week time period.
Fishing Poles
Take a turn at a local fishing hole with one of our fishing poles. Fishing poles can be checked out for 2 weeks. A valid fishing license is still required to fish in public waters.
Hotspots
These devices allow instant internet access to your wi-fi enabled device. Hotspots can be checked out for a two week period.
Irons
Whether you are working on a craft project of your own, or following along with a Library tutorial video, irons can be very helpful in creating your masterpiece. Irons can be checked out for a two week time period.
Legos
Expand your current set or start something new with our mixed Lego kit for checkout. A two week checkout period is allowed for Legos.
Portable Blu-Ray/DVD Player
Need an easy way to watch all the great DVDs the Library has available to borrow? This Portable Blu-Ray or DVD Player is great for travel and is small enough for movie lovers of all ages to use. Players can be checked out for two weeks.
STEM Kits
Check out one of our STEM Kit bags and try your hand at one of the STEM actvities included. STEM kits can be checked out for a two week time period.
Ukuleles
Check out a Ukulele and a beginner’s booklet to learn this easy to play string instrument. Ukulele tutorial videos can also be found on the Queen Anne’s County Library YouTube page. Ukuleles can be checked out for a two week period.
