In accordance with Maryland's notary guidelines, please ensure at the time of the appointment that EACH individual requiring a notarized signature on a document:

- is present in person,

- presents a current (non-expired) government-issued photo ID (not a digital facsimile) and, if applicable, government-issued documentation of a legal name change if that ID doesn't reflect their current legal name,

- brings ALL pages UNSIGNED (signatures must be witnessed by the Notary) of the document for which they are seeking to have their signature notarized,

- fully understands the contents and implications of the document they are signing--the notary is not able to draft nor revise documents nor to provide legal/financial advice,

- If a witness is required for the document signature, please ensure someone is brought to serve in that role.
