Story Time

Are you missing storytime? Call our collaborative Dial-A-Story number to hear a children’s book read by a librarian! The stories are updated every week on Wednesday and will be read by librarians from across Maryland’s Eastern Shore!

  • Call the Enoch Pratt Library’s 24-hour storyline, A Story Anytime (410-396-8396), for children’s stories read in English or Spanish.

  • Storyline Online: Streamed videos of illustrated children’s books narrated by celebrated actors.

  • TumbleBooks: Free access to over 100 children’s titles, including graphic novels.

  • KidLit TV!: Videos, Podcasts, kid lit crafts, trailers, and activities. Includes multiple “channels” including talk shows, author story readalouds, instructional videos by illustrators, and videos about writing and illustrating.

  • Story Time From Space: Astronauts from the International Space Station read children’s books in outer space for children on earth to listen to. They have science videos that compliment the books.

Readaloud Youtube Options

  • KRowe4Kids Kid’s Book Readaloud: Primary and Elementary grade level (K-4) children’s books and stories read aloud!

  • Brightly Story Time: Launched in partnership with Penguin Random House, Brightly features full-length picture books read out loud by storyteller Ms. Linda.

  • PBS Reading Games: Games available through PBS to encourage reading development.

  • Between the Lions Early Reading (PBS Learning Media): Segments selected from Between the Lions, the series that helps kids “Get Wild About Reading!” This special collection provides a set of early Reading/Language Arts resources, organized by early elementary and preschool literacy skills.

  • Read, Write, Think: School-age children resource to engage your children in online literacy learning with interactive tools that help them accomplish a variety of goals—from organizing their thoughts to learning about language—all while having fun.

  • STEAMwork – National Children’s Museum: A collection of past STEAMworks and a full list of resources for families and educators.

  • ABC Mouse: ABCmouse.com is offering their lessons in different subjects like math, science and art for free thanks to UNICEF. All you have to do is go to ABCmouse.com/redeem and type in the code “AOFLUNICEF”

  • Scholastic Learn at Home: 20 days of daily curriculum for Pre-K through 9th graders.

  • Girls Who Code At Home: A collection of computer science activities.

  • NASA At Home: A wealth of STEM resources that includes ebooks, videos, podcasts, and a children’s page that is out of this world!
